Lifesaving Intervention By NFL Star Mark Andrews Saves Woman On Southwest Airlines Flight

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews advised a doctor and saved a passenger’s life on board a Southwest Airlines flight from Baltimore to Phoenix today. The situation onboard the aircraft had become tense after a woman suddenly became critically ill, with an extremely low blood pressure and a lack of strong pulse, necessitating the immediate use of oxygen. A doctor and nurse on board volunteered to help stabilize the woman’s condition, but her heart rate remained unstable. Andrews stepped in. He suggested that the woman’s symptoms might be due to her blood sugar levels and offered his personal diabetic testing kit as a potential solution. He was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 9. And she says she was pressured by an American Airlines employee in Miami to give up her Instagram and phone number for a possible date in order to get rebooked home to Los Angeles.

Olympic Dreams on the Line: How American Airlines Risked a Marathon Runner’s Journey

A passenger on a Spirit Airlines flight reportedly removed his pants and shirt and walked through the aisle while the seatbelt sign remained on. The flight had been delayed for several hours, and the man apparently hadn’t sobered up, but though he was obviously intoxicated at the start of the trip a passenger says that the airline didn’t remove him.
