  1. It’s not a displaced threshold. A displaced threshold would have arrows pointing toward the threshold (or chevrons if the pre-threshold area is not suitable for aircraft movement), not a normal dashed centerline.

  2. I don’t see how Australia can ever reopen without some major backtracking by the government.

    Everyone knows at this point that Covid-19 is going to be endemic. They’ve painted themselves into a corner. I love Australia and most of the people. But also looking forward to a Bogan free Bali in the near future.

    Always a silver lining.

  3. Hmm. Looks like a displaced threshold to me. The barrels on the runway show that planes must land farther down the runway to allow maintenance. The normal runway threshold has been displaced. Painting is unnecessary.
