BoardingArea is giving away two seats on the upcoming Star MegaDO 4. And the winners will even have their hotel accommodations paid for plus a little spending money as well.
It’s the ultimate frequent flyer adventure. Join a couple hundred of your newest frequent flyer enthusiast friends, meeting with airline executives, getting behind the scenes tours, bringing home amazing souvenirs and memories, and earning bonus elite qualifying miles in the MileagePlus program along the way.
Details of the program were released at the launch party. The event will begin the evening of Tuesday, November 13 in San Francisco. Wednesday flies San Francisco to Houston on the charter, a newly refurbished 767-400. Thursday is Houston to Chicago. And there’ll be plenty of United senior managers involved, other Star Alliance partners in San Francisco, and a whole bunch of major surprises along the way.
Here are official hotel details. Hyatt is a sponsor, and there’s a Hyatt Gold Passport promotion as part of the MegaDO. And there’s an optional Cowboy Day at the end of the MegaDO in Chicago.
For more information on the event, here is Milepoint’s forum for Star MegaDO 4.
January’s oneworld MegaDO was featured on the front page of the business section of USA Today and also in an Associated Press story that hit about 70 papers. Top media are ticketed for this event as well.
So here’s how you can enter..
How it Works: One person will be chosen at random to win an entry from this post. Each participating blog will have one winner. (Other BoardingArea blogs will also be giving away an entry this week.) The two BoardingArea winners will be drawn from the individual entrants chosen on each blog.
What You Need to Do: Answer the question, “Are you excited for United’s new 787? And if so, why?” You may only enter once here at View from the Wing. Enter by 11:59pm Mountain time on October 7.
The Prize: A reserved aisle or window seat next to Randy Petersen on the upcoming StarMegaDo 2012, hotel accommodations, and $250 for personal expenses. There will be a total of two total winners chosen at BoardingArea.
Additional details on the contest can be found here. You must be 18 to enter and will be responsible for your own positioning flights (to San Francisco for the start of the MegaDO and back home from Chicago).
So to enter, Are you excited for United’s new 787? And if so, why?
And to be clear, this question is just based on ‘what’s new at United’, the airline we’re working with on the charter.
Good luck, and giddy up!
Excited because its the most fuel efficient plane.
Excited AND a little scared, but probably worth it with all new things
Not really. I am still yet to try the big bird – A380 – and see how processing 500+ people onetime in immigration would work.
Not particularly because AA is my airline. Having said that, I might try to fly it if I’m actually going on a 787 route.
yes because ual needs new equipment.
Of course I’m excited. All neat new aesthetics aside, I’m happy that the cabin will be pressurized to a lower altitude, perhaps finally allowing me to get through a flight without getting groggy.
I’m excited – new is best! BTW will the windows open…?;)
Yes I am! Because of the nice comfy seats 🙂
Yes I’m excited, would love to experience the future of flight and see what the experience is like. Go United!
I have not done a lot of reading but I hope United use 787 to Europe and/or Asia. Yes, I am very excited about this!!! Count me in!!!
Excited, yes to see the auto-dimming windows and experience that new plane smell
Yes, also looking forward to the added LHR flight.
Yes! Love how they are thinking about the great experience for passengers and a more fuel efficient plane
Yes, I want to fly with that white haired guy!
Yes! Very excited for the 787! Can’t wait see if I can stand up straight in the bathroom!
Only would be excited if they went to 2-4-2 seating in the cheap seats.
I shared tips on spending miles with a stranger last flight last week. We have become friends and found out that we have something in common in term of research/work!
Can’t wait to see United’s take on cabin interior!
Yes, very excited. All of the new technology is thrilling!
Looking forward to seeing the new technological enhancements.
Yes, excited for the new 787. Looking forward to a higher pressure cabin and all of the good things that brings to flying. Also looking forward to a better view out of the new windows. And more!
Yes, new plane smell is always good.
I am excited to fly United’s new 787. Principally because I’ve only flown Star Alliance a few times over 10 years, so this would be an opportunity to get in on a new product. I’ve heard positive things about it, so I’m stoked!
I love to fly. My first flight was DC-10 from ICN to Honolulu. I would love to fly the new wide body.
I can’t wait to fly the UA 787! Nothing like the new plane smell. I can’t wait to check out the view through the new bigger windows and electric shades!
Yes, i love new planes
Not really, just a plane to go from point a to b
Yes, I’m curious, because it will be more advanced!
I just want to kiss the floors of the 787, I’ll even record it on video!
Excited to fly on the new beast of the sonic airways with high capacity, speed, and performance!
Yes, if only to see if there is such a thing as a new plane smell.
Yes I am super excited for United’s 787. I travelled over 50000 miles this year but never got a chance to fly 787. Would definitely try it on united when the routes are out.
I will try to win this although the chance is slim.
Absolutely! I’ve flown on every type of United plane since the Caravelle. I look forward to many journeys on the 787 as well.
Excited to see the ambience and the view from the larger windows
I’m excited because of the pressure being more like what I’m used to.
Larger windows and smaller carbon footprint
I think I will enjoy the larger windows as I am taller than average.
More first class seats to Houston, at least for a few months
I’m absolutely excited! I’ve flown multiple legs on UA, SQ, TG for a family emergency from Syracuse to Manila and back, but I’ve always wanted to fly a much longer Star Alliance itinerary, able to check out all of the awesome amenities of every airline. Please choose me!
As a travel agent, everything that makes travel more exciting (and comfortable) is good for me, and good for the industry. On a personal note, as a dedicated United flyer, I’m hoping this ushers in a new era of innovation and expansion for the airline. I can’t wait to fly her!
Yes I am very excited. I would love to travel with fellow travel enthusiasts enjoying the space and comfort of the new 787.
You know it. New plane…great people…great cities, bring on the new 787.
Excited: to get back onto United metal that is brand-new
Yes. New plane!
Yes, very much so. I’d love to try the new electronic window blind:)
Only if I get to sit up front
