Flight to Phoenix Makes Unplanned Stop – Because The Lavatories Were Busting At The Seams [Roundup]

News and notes from around the interweb:

  • Had somebody forgotten to empty the lav?

  • One of the stranger racial discrimination complaints I’ve seen against an airline

  • Ramp business cards now offer transferrable points card earns 1.5 points per dollar, but transfers are 1.5:1.

  • Cabbage? On a plane? My condolences to the passengers and other crewmembers.

  • Why do you gamble?

  • No, I’m the one banging my head against a pole because the major rental car companies let you skip the line and go straight to your car at most locations if you simply join their free program online first.

  1. Funny story, I’ve been to Knoxville 3 separate times, and NEVER on purpose…

1). Flight from CVG to DAytona. After just getting to cruising alt, we plunge 15k in minutes, before captain says they had a warning light and going to land in Knoxville. Full CR-900, same plane leaves two hours later with only 5 of us. That was weird.

The other two times were because final destination was iced over. Ended up renting a one way car to Atlanta to catch more flights, lol.

Probably been diverted 10 times now, and once with a dead passenger. That sucked.. because he died on the way from Montreal to PHL, and we had to stop in Albany.
FOR 5 HOURS. but that’s life.

    I still love traveling though.

  2. @Jon Biedermann, not sure why the stop at Albany unless they were giving CPR and thought he or she could be saved. The air distance between Montreal and Philadelphia is about 400 miles with Albany half way.

  3. I’ve had to wait 2 hours in an Avis Preferred line because the “go straight to your car” function in the app said to go to the counter. It happens sometimes.

  4. For all the complaints registered about car rental companies, so far I’ve only dropped using Budget and that gawd awful Sixt. have not had any trouble (fingers crossed) with Hertz except getting at a LOOONNNNGGGG line at a major airport…once. There was a sign saying that ALL customers had to get in the LOOONNGGGG line. I’m a gold member and should be able to go directly to my car. I called Hertz from the LOONGGGGG (gets shorter as I’m calling) only to find out that the sign didn’t apply to members whose status allows them to go directly TO the garage. A change to the sign would alleviate a chunk of that long line! Remember folks, use your phone and take pictures from ALL ANGLES. Document ANYTHING that’s out of the ordinary. Document the instrument panel BEFORE you leave the garage. Arrive back at the return in time to document the entire car and instrument panel. I even put my watch adjacent to the fuel gauge to document the time and date. Get the receipt NOW. Hassle? Yeah, a bit but look at the alternative!
