News and notes from around the interweb:
- Head of Ryanair’s social media – which is very edgy – peaces out. Their twitter team was savage.
Today is ✨ OFFICIALLY ✨ my last day as Head of Social Media at Ryanair.
I toast it on a sunny island with my family looking back with great joy and disappointment of what else we could have built, BUT I have zero regrets on my decision.

- Delta will begin adding high speed Hughes wifi to Boeing 717s ad to Embraer E170/175 and Bombardier CRJ-700/900 regional jets next year.
Currently the reason I avoid booking regional jet flights whenever possible is that most are equipped with slow air to ground wifi which frequently lets me accomplish very little inflight. I’ve flown some Austin – Reno and Washington Dulles American Eagle E-175 flights recently, and I kick myself for doing it each time. In contrast, JSX features Starlink high speed internet with almost no latency on small regional jets.
Hopefully this will put some pressure on American to do better, but since American doesn’t even offer free inflight messaging currently (a feature they announced six years ago) and charges more than anyone else for wifi, that seems… unlikely?
- Citi 30% transfer bonus to Qatar Airways Privilege Club and from there you can transfer to other Avios currencies where you have an active account.
- Through November 30 American Express has a 20% bonus on transfers to Marriott. I really hope you do not wind up needing to do this because it’s such poor value.

Thanks for the tip on Qatar Avios (30% bonus), no other blogs seem to be reporting on that yet. Just took advantage of it to book an upcoming AA domestic trip.
Note that Citi is still showing a 1:1 transfer rate, but the bonus is being applied by Qatar after the points are transferred in. And the bonus Avios won’t arrive until sometime after the offer ends on Nov 10. They say up to 45 days, but don’t know if it will take that long. So don’t plan on using the bonus miles immediately for a booking.
