27 year old Miami-based American Airlines flight attendant Tori Panopoulos has breast cancer and is scheduled for a double mastectomy on March 1. She has a GoFundMe and is looking to raise $10,000 because of the time she’ll need to take off for treatment.
I will need to be out about 6 weeks from work in order to heal. I will also need a follow up surgery in 2-3 months that will require me to be out from work again for another 2-3 weeks.
… I don’t have any short term disability through my job so my time off will be unpaid.
Under the flight attendants union contract short-term disability is something is something cabin crew can pay for out of their wages, it is not a company-provided benefit and it’s not something the union helps with.
Does anybody want to help her out?
Donated. C’mon, Viewers! Let’s help this poor F/A get through this!

Done!
This flight attendant has almost reached her goal. Yet another woman with breast cancer got little response. This person, Ms. Cespedes, was or is a manager of the Sheraton 5 Points near the San Antonio International Airport. Before that, she was the Pear Tree Inn manager next to the Sheraton 5 Points. Both are owned and managed by Drury Inn.

Wish I could!
Good luck Ma’am!
Pretty messed up look at the state of healthcare and associated institutions like sick leave in our nation.
Imagine what people that aren’t attractive and won’t get substantial help through GFM have to deal with.
Through GoFundMe?
Hell no.
Now looking for $15,000.00 . . .
why the increase from $$10k to $15k?
Perhaps she can get some of the money meant for the truckers in Canada now that GFM has confiscated it.
I find it odd that someone would question how much money someone with cancer would need to raise for their medical bills and living expenses. My sister, uncle, and 2 aunts have cancer. If there’s anything I learned, it was that the bills for you and your caretaker start to grow quickly. Many people overestimate their energy levels during and after treatment and end up spending more time out of work than they had anticipated. Living expenses, travel costs, the loss of income of their caretaker, and the cost of organic foods (to prevent any OTHER cancerous pesticides). This is just skimming the surface of the financial burden one family will experience while treating a loved one. Let’s not judge others, or doubt them. Let’s be better and spread love and positivity to people, especially in their times of need, God Bless
Why do I get the “pay attention to me because I am a good looking white woman” vibe? I would imagine that there are many many women in even worse need. Plus, increasing the goal smells of opportunism.
Hope her treatment goes well, but no donation from me.
Why negative comments?
The flight attendant did not post this , someone else did, meaning well I’m sure.
If you don’t want to donate don’t.
Just try to have some compassion , this is tough For anyone..to go through. No matter what you look like , or what race you are.
We just came off of Jobs being furloughed, not being to work ,and people dying.
Stop the negative comments, change the narrative, most of all just be kind.
If you are a professional and have not saved up $10k OR exhausted all your funds FIRST before using GoFundMe, you are just looking for a free handout.
The hate that comes out of some people, is very unfortunate. To you think your first reaction to finding out a stranger has cancer, is the say something hateful and mean is sad. It makes me hope that these are just Internet trolls or AI bots. It says a lot more about what type of human being they are. You don’t know everything about somebody’s life and you don’t know what they’re going through. Very obvious that these people have never personally known someone with cancer or the ins and outs associated with cancer. Cancer turns you and your families lives upside down, money is the least that they need during this time. But it sure does help to not need to worry about money when your life could be on the line. God bless everyone in this comment thread and especially God bless the amazing woman receiving so much unwarranted hate.
It’s sad to see how much heat is here. So many people need to find something better to do with their days then the to try and bring down another person. Especially a young woman with cancer. I hope that beautiful strong courageous woman never reads this. Those spreading hate should all be ashamed of yourself.
A lot of people here we’re never told by their parents if you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all. Get a life
First of all how do you know what anyone’s personal situation is? Why do you feel it necessary to spread heat? I’ll pray for you a lot of unnecessary negativity has encompassed your life @Xmasy I don’t know why I see any negativity on this post. It’s just a reflection of the negativity that lives in all your hearts.
The fact that people are being racist because she’s white comments is what’s wrong with the world doesn’t that make you no different then any other racist. You gotta be the change you want to see in the world. and being a racist comes in all shapes color and sizes.also comparing one situation to another go fund me. We like to compare our lives to others and that’s one of the many links to suicides and people still judge and continue to bring evil.
Nobody knows what this girl is going through and I hope none of you ever have to go through cancer. Nobody knows this Girl so why are people jumping to negatively comment well it’s because they blame the world for their own problems because they don’t have the guts to admit their own faults and they play the victim card. instead of keeping negative words to them selves they spread their demons.
I wish that nobody would have to go through cancer.
And ya this girl didn’t ask to be on this page.
She is free to do w.e she wants.
I hope that this girl doesn’t see these negative comments I can’t imagine the emotional trauma on top of what ever trauma she has already going on. If she would see this. Not everybody has the fortunate opportunities not everybody has 10,000 dollars saved up. Nobody is ever ready for the situation of cancer.
Why is this blog promoting this particular woman’s health situation? I find it bizarre for a post that should be strictly about airline news. Will the blogger continue to post future Go Fund Me requests for all airline personnel? Where does it stop?
You’ll be in my prayers. More than happy to help. All the blessing for you.
Cancer sucks for anyone who gets it. It’s not fair. If someone needs help, they should be able to get it. I’d hope if I were sick, someone would help me. No one deserves to be sick. Regardless of race, sex, or religion. She deserves the help she needs and would selflessly do it for anyone else who needs it. God bless her and may he give her strength to prevail through this unfortunate circumstance with all the love and support she needs. Looking forward to remission updates ❤️
These negative comments are despicable. You should thank God you are healthy. Your shallow comments are really pathetic. There are no adjectives to describe your unwanted nasty words. How do you think it makes her feel reading this negative words. Have a heart. Be kind. Pray for her.

This is about a young flight attendant who has to fight for her life against cancer. Yet there are comments here attacking her and this post, merely because she is white and beautiful. Shows you how successful the media and academia have been at indoctrinating anti-whiteness into the psyche of the West. Lord have mercy.
Some of these comments are not only hurtful but they couldn’t be at a worse moment in time. This young girl does need this kind of negative energy flowing her way. My god bless her and give her the strength she needs; and my god have mercy on the souls of those who are only out to cause pain in the world.
There is no need to be so cruel and hostile to someone who is possibly encountering such a hardship.
@Derek
That gfme is from 2017. I feel bad for her too.
@Dr C
That’s anti White hate showing. We have a young woman with cancer here who is White and beautiful. Why would you hold that against her? That’s mean and hateful. The double standard is obvious. The Black Mayor of NYC can have called Whites crackers in 2019 and get little attention but if a White Mayor called Blacks a name he or she would get hounded. This is sad.
First and foremost I want to point out the fact that a DOCTOR is discriminating against someone who is battling with cancer solely because she is beautiful AND white. Is that how you conduct your services when treating patients? You decide who or who not to treat based on what they look like or what color their skin is? And if that is not the case in your practice, then why make it a point out of your “busy” schedule to write a comment talking down on someone who is battling cancer, which from your studies and/or practice you would KNOW just how debilitating cancer can be and what the treatment for it can do to one’s body.
Instead of talking down on this woman who is already going through ALOT at such a young age, why don’t you all have a little compassion? Kindness goes a long way for people when they’re struggling, especially with a life threatening disease.
Compassion and kindness does many wonders. Please, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
It’s pretty disgusting how quickly people judge this young woman simply because she’s asking for financial help in the middle of her recent diagnosis. We don’t know the full extent of her needs past what’s been expressed nor do we know how she could possibly be feeling in the middle of all of this knowing she could potentially lose her life due to this disease.. and all people wanna focus on is why she raised her asking from 10k to 15k and the fact that she’s a white woman? What is wrong with society? Have we become that desensitized to empathize with people when they need help? So because she’s white and attractive she doesn’t deserve to find the means to pay for her treatments? So we’re going to assume she raised her asking by 5k for selfish reasons instead of considering that the calculations for her medication and treatment are adding up? People making nasty comments are severely emotionally damaged and I pray something like this doesn’t happen to any of you… in the middle of a pandemic nonetheless. If the tables were turned, all of you would be asking for help too. Ridiculous.
I recently retired after 50+yrs as a flight attendant with a major US carrier. I always opted for the best long-term and short-term disability insurance. I was diagnosed with an inop brain tumor that required over 7 months on medical disability. It was challenging (I have no family and my closest friends reside over 1,000 miles away), but I survived. I am not familiar with American Airlines’ insurance policies. It never occurred to me to ask for money. I do sympathize with this lady’s situation. Years ago I experienced a ‘scare’ re breast cancer, thankfully my masses were precancerous and removed. When told my brain tumor cannot be biopsied until after my death I replied ‘then it has to be benign’. This is my battle to fight.
Maybe, in case any of you didnt think of it, maybe just maybe this girl had no idea that this was to be posted on a public blog for public scrutiny. Did you ever think that the writer of this blog didnt ask or notify the young lady that he would be posting this? Maybe she was just trying to ask close friends, family, or colleagues on a private group?
Only reason people care about her is because she’s young and pretty. If she was a he, old and not attractive nobody would care. This is why Foids live life on easy mode. They have everything handed to them on a silver platter and still have the nerve to cry about being “oppressed”.
Guys, let’s help out all we can. I made a donation to her and an equal donation to a person of color who also needed help. Let’s lift up everyone we can!
