Hilton’s New Double Points Promo Starts May 6th With a Kicker

Hilton’s current promotion, great for short stays ends May 5. Not missing a beat their new promotion runs May 6 – September 8. (Registration required)

Hilton is continuing the theme of their most common bonus, double points, but they aren’t interested in bonusing only occasional guests. They’re only offering double points starting with your second stay during the promotion period.

Doubling down, as it were, on the focus on bonusing the most frequent guests they’re adding a component to double points: additional threshold bonuses for staying 10, 15 and 20 times (not nights) during the promotion period.

The base earning for Hilton Honors is less rewarding than at other major chains which is why it’s promotions that are required to make Honors a competitive earn and burn program. They need to run more lucrative promotions than competitors or else the program simply gives less value to members (even aside from limitations of their elite program, no promises of suite upgrades or late check-out).

I value Hilton points at $0.004 apiece so 10,000 points is ~ $40, 15,000 is ~ $60, and 20,000 is ~ $80 which isn’t a lot for 10, 15, and 20 stays respectively however as a kicker on top of double points (excluding the first stay during the promotion period) it’s not a bad extra.
