News and notes from around the interweb:
- How those ‘airline status for sale’ websites work. Some just use fake credentials to sign you up for temporary status (they’ll sign you up for a status match/challenge that’s publicly available). Others may do this:
- Swiss will get Airbus A350s starting in 2025 (HT: @LiveandLetsFly)
- Details matter.

- Thai Airways in talks with Boeing to acquire 20 787-9s (HT: crucker)
- Airline dad jokes.

Tier status does not make you more sexy. Like the Most Interesting Man In The World, be more sexy because you are.
@Gary and anyone else – I’d love to hear more about elite status for sale, and it does sound legal if it’s structured the way tha you describe it. Googling it, I see https://envytraveler.com/, but that’s primarily selling status matches that are often available for free, it seems. Any others?
You shouldn’t have to “pay” for status matches. If you hold status with the airlines or hotels, all you have to do is call them up and advise you wish to do a status match – they’ll ask you to show proof of status with the other company and they’ll match it as long as you meet their qualifications.
what was the reddit image that got deleted (in reddit)?
there’s a dumpster fire of a reddit discussion about https://airlinestatus.com/ over at https://www.reddit.com/r/americanairlines/comments/zn1q14/just_bought_executive_platinum_have_a_few/ too
