News and notes from around the interweb:
- Surely this has to be fake, because I can’t imagine United would spend big money on unnecessary rebranding and come up with this. But then again please see Bonvoy.
So here’s apparently the new livery for @united. What do you think? Personally I quite like it, hints of the beautiful @KuwaitAirways livery. pic.twitter.com/IVtSnhn7qb

- United could substantially grow flights at Washington Dulles. The hub has been in question many times over the years, but costs have dropped there thanks to subsidies from the state of Virginia and transfers from National airport.
- Two boxes of guns were stolen from United Airlines cargo in Atlanta. That way they will neither be used to shoot passengers nor pets?
- American’s Dallas Fort-Worth Flagship Lounge and Flagship Dining appears to be delayed until May. That’s still not too far off the originally projected open. Once it’s in-service, along with the re-opening of the D Concourse Admirals Club, we should see some pressure taken off of the new larger American Express Centurion lounge in the same terminal.
- Air Canada phone representatives are being reminded that breastfeeding on board is permitted. Lavatories can be hard enough to get into as it is! Do we really want to increase those lines further?
Dear @AirCanada: It is never okay to recommend a woman breastfeed her infant in an airplane lavatory. Nor would I like to be referred to your medical line to discuss this further. If you would like to eat your dinner there, by all means, but my infant son will not be joining you

- Struggling Hong Kong Airlines is cutting back on Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Vancouver frequencies
United needs to get rid of the generic globe logo and bring back the tulip.
Commonwealth of Virginia*
Dulles remains one of the most poorly run airports in the country. The $50 million annual gift from the taxpayers of the Commonwealth is not forever. The MWAA squanders billions on no bid contracts, hiring family members, built most expensive air train by distance in the world that only goes to 3 of 4 terminals and a fourth runway that is never used. Jet Blue bailed out, SWA is cutting back and United stinks. Who wants to fly 50 seat CRJs on one hour flights that cost $400 one way?
Apparently Munoz said a livery update was coming so it very well could be this. It matches the “evolution” of the brand, as he put it. I do miss the tulip though.

That’s not the new livery. It’s fan art from 2012. Took 30 seconds to find.

That UA image is several years old, so doubt its the livery
A comment in that Twitter feed indicates some employees were sent a concept that has purple in it – which is one of the new brand colors unveiled last year.
Ridiculous. This image was thrown around back right after the merger. 100% innacurate.
