As though I don’t have enough on my plate! But both have real potential.
Shoes Off is a new BoardingArea blog by a TSA Screener (“TSA Tina”) and she’s rather funny and isn’t a total TSA apologist, either, she makes fun of passengers sure but she also comes down pretty hard on the Newark screener who wasn’t at his post when the student went airside to express love and the government cleared the terminal and re-screened everyone as a result. (Frank Lautenberg, by the way, is a moron — blame the screener don’t grandstand against the kid.)
Some other new miles and points blogs have appeared on the scene, Greekquentflyer and Ahlay Travel who today publishes the British Airways Gold elite US phone number, reporting that they don’t require you to enter your Executive Club number to reach them and skip the queues.
The business travel blog space was nearly empty when I started back in 2002. Now even the more niche miles, points, and elite status blogging is getting crowded, with folks like Points, Miles, and Martinis, Loyalty Traveler, the whole crew at Upgrd.com, Wandering Aramean, TM Travel World, and MJ On Travel.
My first daily reads are still One Mile at a Time and Frugal Travel Guy. And sure, I branch outside of miles and points to stuff like Cranky Flier, but mostly I stick to my bread and butter.
I just wish that The Global Traveller, Randy, and Upgrade: Travel Better would post more.
Who am I forgetting?
More estrogen is headed to Boarding Area when I’m up and running
Thanks for the mention Gary – amongst fine company (including you). Now that my crazy Dec/Jan travel period is finished I should be posting more often. Watch this space.
That “Shoes Off” blog is entertaining. Thanks.
Oooh, thanks for pointing out Shoes Off. I hadn’t seen it, but I like it. Good stuff. (And thanks for mentioning Cranky.)
Thanks for the mention! And like Cranky, I had not seen Shoes Off. Like it!
Shoes Off hasn’t lasted long.
@Global Traveller Indeed.
