News and notes from around the interweb:
- National Car Rental’s 1-2-Free promo is back I used to love this promo but just don’t rent cars nearly as often anymore. Earn a free rental day for every 2 qualifying rentals (midsize or larger of two days or more in most regions) by February 28, 2019; redeem by June 13, 2019.
- Qantas will launch a Chicago non-stop when their joint venture with American Airlines is granted anti-trust immunity but if that doesn’t happen they’ll fly Brisbane – Seattle instead.
- Between August 23 and October 14 Hyatt Place and Hyatt House stays can earn both Hyatt points and also MGM M life Rewards elite credits Registration required.
Hyatt Place Delray Beach - A Muslim woman who is a US citizen had her iPhone confiscated at the border when returning home from Europe after she refused to unlock it (by the way unlocking a phone reveals that you know how to unlock that phone..). The government kept it for four months and she’s suing since they won’t say whether they made copies of her communications with her lawyer that were on it, or of the photos of her ‘in a state of undress’.
- Facial recognition technology caught a Congolese man trying to enter the U.S. at Washington Dulles airport using a French passport that was not his own. Reported success notwithstanding this technology frightens me, gets things wrong 1 in 100 times which seems high, and hardly seems worthwhile for ‘speeding up boarding’ in the future.
MGM M life Rewards lol
its really a program? Could have fooled me
No guaranteed late check outs for elites slow check in and a 20 dollar fee to pay for your stay in advance of arrival. They monetize almost everything for their best customers
They forget that they have competition
Did I mention they are suing the victims of the shootings that took place from inside one of their hotels?
I stayed with them when the Hyatt Relationship first started but now unlikely going forward
Very interesting post. My husband and I have a complicated relationship with Hyatt hotels and their point system. this really helps to shed some light. Thanks !
