Now Marriott Hotel Workers in San Francisco Are On Strike, Too

Yesterday I wrote about Marriott hotel employees in Boston walking out.

Now 2300 employees have walked out at several San Francisco properties: the Courtyard Marriott Downtown; Marriott Marquis; Marriott Union Square; The Palace; St. Regis; W; and Westin St. Francis. In addition 200 workers have walked out in San Jose.

  1. I love crossing a picket line. There are lots of ways to prevent the stupid strikers from having any peace.

    Thanks for the heads up.

  2. Staying at the Westin St Francis, and it’s not a pretty sight. Lobby on lockdown like a prison, minimum staffing in dining, and no housekeeping. What do you think would be fair compensation to ask? Here for 4 days, a bit long to have no fresh towels or bedding made.

  3. The most fair compensation is if companies would pay their workers a fair wage instead of trying to squeeze every drop of blood out of them to give to investors. Capitalism and greedy in America have gone too far!

  4. Its not about fair pay and compensation. If you dont like your job or the pay, then leave and find another job that will compensate your talents. Unions are an outdated organization that is protected by the US government. Without the government’s rules and regs supporting them, they would not stand a chance.

  5. Corporate shills and scabs here like William and cbass haven’t a clue what’s going to hit them once they get automated out of their jobs. I didn’t even bother to check-in.
