Argentina Detains Air France Crew After Refusing to Upgrade Politician’s Daughter

Argentina is said to have detained Air France flight crew who refused to upgrade the daughter of a politician.

Reportedly the daughter of a former Deputy Minister of Justice (and current magistrate) was onboard October 29th Air France flight AF228 from Paris to Buenos Aires. She asked for an upgrade to business class and the crew (correctly) turned her down. She then claimed her seat opponent behaved inappropriately and asked to change seats, which was accommodated (but still not in business class).

Great American Airlines Business Class Availability to Rio for the Whole Family

American AAdvantage says award availability is going to get better starting later in the year however in the meantime on the whole finding saver award space on American’s own flights is an almost pointless task much of the time.

However they do open space from time to time, in spurts and usually for 24-48 hours at most. When they do you need to grab it, it doesn’t last.

Emirates Eliminating First Class From Boeing 777-200LR Fleet

Emirates currently has 10 Boeing 777-200LRs with 8 first class, 42 business class, and 216 economy seats.

They’ve just disclosed a plan to eliminate first class from these planes, and move to a six-across (2-2-2) business class in place of the current seven-across, eliminating the middle-of-middle seat in business. The plane will be densified to 302 seats in total.

American just announced a new flight from Dallas Fort-Worth to Reykjavik, Iceland. When I saw the release that American would be going to Iceland I first assumed it would be from Philadelphia, which they consider their primary transatlantic gateway. However Dallas makes a certain amount of sense.

LAX Terminal 4 American Airlines Admirals Club and Flagship Lounge Opening Soon

According to agents there the American Airlines terminal 4 Admirals Club may re-open November 21.

American tells me “we’re targeting for the whole complex which includes Admirals Club, Flagship Lounge and Flagship First Dining to open mid to late December.” The Admirals Club will be the first piece to open and “that’s on target to open around Thanksgiving.”

US Government Hacked a 757 on an Airport Runway Without the Pilot Knowing. How Long Before the Hack Is Public?

It’s great that the details of the hack were revealed to Boeing. It’s a problem when vulnerabilities are kept secret.

There needs to be a limited amount of time to implement a patch because there’s a limited amount of time in which vulnerability information is likely to remain secret and our safety cannot rely on hoping that hackers don’t steal the data.
