A 12 year old boy’s toy grenade was found by the TSA last week at Jacksonville airport.

And since a toy hatchet was also found on a teenager last week in Orlando the TSA is reminding parents and teens not to bring ‘realistic’ looking toy weapons through the checkpoint.

Don’t Believe Delta: Eliminating LaGuardia’s Perimeter Rule Will Reduce Service to Small Cities. And That’s Ok.

Immediately after plans were announced to remake LaGuardia airport, there was speculation about a side deal with Delta to get the airline to pay for part of the renovation in exchange for lifting the perimeter rule at the airport.

And indeed, the Port Authority is now considering lifting the rule.

At the end of June I got a preview of Ameican’s new meal service which rolled out domestically August 1st.

The changes were a continuation of improvements that began May 1 when the airline introduced entree salads.

But why does meal service even matter on a plane, at least for relatively short domestic flights?
