U.S. Airlines Fail Passengers During Bad Weather. How To Take Matters Into Your Own Hands.

There were over 1,350 flight cancellations in the U.S. on Saturday, led by regional carrier Republic which flies for the three largest airlines which saw 35% of flights cancel. When bad weather hits, it’s larger planes carrying more people that are usually given priority. Behind Republic were – in order – United, American, and Delta, together taking the four top spots for cancellations in the world.

Passengers At Delta Sky Clubs Are Dumping Buffet Items Into Their Carry On Bags

Traditionally airport lounges have offered snacks, but you’re not supposed to take food with you for the flight. That’s to limit costs. Hotels with club lounges frequently have drinks, but many make a point not to offer bottled water – knowing that their beverage costs would skyrocket.

New Long Haul Destinations American Airlines To Add In 2025 And 2026

Last week I wrote that American Airlines plans to serve more premium international destinations starting in 2025 and into 2026. That’s once they’ve taken delivery of new Boeing 787-9 aircraft, which they ordered in 2018 and have been delayed.

Senior Vice President of Network Planning told employees recently that these planes change the airline’s calculus.

Why The Points Guy’s New Effort To Value Miles Is Nonsense

The Points Guy has published new “data-driven” valuations for U.S. airline miles and for credit card points, but they don’t… show you much about the data, and the methodology they offer makes very little sense. It’s nonsense built on stilts. They’ve picked out some flights to compare prices in cash and in miles, and then declared the value you’re getting for your miles on those flights is the value of miles. And that’s just wrong. This treats points as being worth the same as cash used towards an airline ticket. But points are not worth as much as cash, because cash can do more than buy airline tickets.
