Prince Charles Discovers London Heathrow Security

Charles, Prince of Wales, visited London Heathrow today to celebrate 10 years since the inauguration of Terminal 5. He’s pictured with British Airways CEO Alex Cruz in the photo at top right below.

Starship was there as Prince Charles received a guided tour of British Airways’ First Wing. This witness was so exciting that he “forgot to take [his] laptop out of [his] hand luggage, so [Prince Charles] got to witness .. the right-royal swab treatment” at security.

For Prince Charles it was sort of like George H.W. Bush and the somewhat apocryphal supermarket checkout scanner.

At Heathrow Charles was “being told [First Wing security] is the typical airport terminal experience one can expect when one flies commercial” according to the witness.

Of course it could just be that all this premium travel is new to the Royals, since Charles’ son William flies Ryanair and American Airlines coach.

  1. Prince Charles wouldn’t have had a clue about the indignities of airport security, new-fangled scanners etc. He is a relic of a long passed age.
