Singapore Airlines Wants Help Naming Their New Frequent Flyer Mascot

When Starwood hotels was looking to name their Sheraton check-in kiosks they ran a company-wide contest and then opened submissions to frequent flyers on FlyerTalk as well. I won 50,000 Starpoints which they reported on a 1099 to me at 1.5 cents apiece. I never in my life actually used a Sheraton Speed Check, though.

Singapore Airlines has a new mascot for its KrisFlyer frequent flyer program, but the mascot doesn’t have a name. They’ve asked the internet to name it for them. You can submit your recommended name and they’ll pay out 30,000 miles if they select it. Here are the terms and conditions.

The new mascot is part of a campaign focused on “Earn Easier, Redeem Faster, Travel Better” and the mascot “resembles Scoot’s iconic yellow shade… incorporat[ing] the elements of its sub-brands (Tiger, Scoot and Silk Air).” I do like the tag line though, “Experiences are Miles Better.”

Members get to submit suggestions, but won’t get to vote on the winner. The airline’s loyalty marketing team will serve as judges. So it’s unlikely we’ll see Miles McMilesFace as the name of the new mascot.
