Sleeping On Planes: Marco Rubio Hides Under A Blanket On Air Force One So Trump Won’t Think He’s “Weak” [Roundup]

News and notes from around the interweb:

  • We all have sleep routines on planes…

  • Bilt seems to be fixing (1) people who had their Wells Fargo card, but were denied new cards – those folks are getting approvals, (2) people who were approved with lower limits than on the old card (I got an email with an increase from $25,000 to $40,000, still lower than the $50k from Wells).

  • Womp, womp.

  • This is why you always carry a U.K. power adapter with you in your laptop bag. A decade ago this was a huge problem across American Airlines planes. They developed a maintenance program for it, but shelved it because checking and fixing outlets across their fleet was going to cost several million dollars. Around 2018 they preferred to let them rot. Things are much better now, but I never removed the adapter from my bag.

  • If you’re the taco editor for Texas Monthly, you’re hispanic and you’re spending your time in taco spots in southwest Texas around Del Rio, your business travel inevitably collides with immigration enforcement.

  • Bahia Principe’s 22 all-inclusives across Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and more join World of Hyatt on March 24. Oddly points-earning is the standard 5 base points per dollar (standard) and four bonus points per dollar, aside from elite bonuses.

  1. Please, someone, shed your crocodile tears and tell us to ‘not get political’…

    @L737 — Matt’s still got it.

  2. I carry a couple of European plug adapters that have a very tight grip for US plugs and fit right into the European holes of AA’s domestic planes, where the Euro holes are not worn out, of course. Works every time, even on AS downward facing sockets. Not as bulky as UK adapters. Super cheap at Amazon, 5.99 for 6, search for “6 Pack European Travel Plug Adapter, US to Europe Plug Adapter”.

  3. Right! The UK power plug is a lifesaver on planes especially if your charger weighs more than a fraction of an ounce!
