In January American re-opened their large Boston Admirals Club. In February they re-opened their refurbished Charlotte Concourse B club. In May they opened their Flagship Lounge and Dining and refurbished Admirals Club at Dallas-Fort Worth Concourse D.

Major projects that are underway:
- The New York LaGuardia Central Terminal A concourse will get a new Admirals Club. They’re “awaiting start of design” and anticipate opening the club in 2022.
- They’re in the design process for the refurbished Philadelphia Terminal A-West Admirals Club and new Flagship lounge. That’s the last planned domestic Flagship lounge.
- Design is underway for the new San Francisco Terminal 1 Admirals Club, with relocation planned next year.
The process in Philadelphia has seemed interminable, likely caught up for some time in part because of the multiple jurisdictions in which Philadelphia’s airport resides. A similar issue once caused United to fail to renew the liquor license for one of its clubs at Newark.
Gary- think you forgot to include the picture of the refurbished Admirals Club at CLT Terminal B.
@ Gary –I don’t understand why LGA will take till 2022, but SFO can be done next year. Insane.
@DCJoe – what i forgot was one letter in the html to display the photo 🙂
the SFO club is in the new part of terminal one, which has been in construction for a number of years. It opened this week with 9 gates. AA will move from T2 to T1 next year in March when the next phase of construction is complete
so crazy Philadelphia has taken this long to get a proper international AA lounge. They have a significant number of international flights.
A good follow-up article Gary – the negligence of EWR-C by UA.
The idiots 1) built Polaris knocking out the main club, and 2) only run one of the two pop-ups starting at 2pm.
I wish their planes were as nice as the (new) lounges. The ones in MIA and in DFW are really very nice. These lounges are top notch. To board one of their planes with no seat padding, no IFE, no power, and no leg room in a dark crowded and old looking interior makes these lounges feel like it’s a completely different company.
