Air New Zealand CEO Diverts Flight So It Can Pick Him Up, Then Serves Drinks
Air New Zealand’s CEO Greg Foran may have violated his flight attendant union contract scope clause by taking over cabin crew duties to serve drinks to passengers on a flight from Auckland to Tokyo. (I kid, I kid.)
He was trying to make up for having the flight diverted – to pick him up, along with a New Zealand trade delegation of 30 business leaders, government officials, and media.

United Airlines Miles Have Stopped Working For Award Travel On Air New Zealand
United Airlines hasn’t been showing award seats that are being offered by their Star Alliance airline partner Air New Zealand. Fortunately United claims this is a glitch, rather than intentional, and one they hope to resolve quickly.

She is said to have become abusive towards flight attendants, and was ultimately handcuffed and strapped to her seat to keep her out of the galley of the aircraft.
The Onboard Coffee Tastes Awful, But the Cup Is Delicious: Air New Zealand’s New Edible Coffee Cup
As part of Air New Zealand’s commitment to reduce single use items they are trialing a new coffee cup.
When you finish drinking your coffee – and you really do need to drink it down to the last drop – you can eat the cup, because it’s made out of biscotti.
Great Business Class Award Space on Air New Zealand for Peak December
Historically awards between the US and New Zealand have been one of the toughest things to book. Years ago Air New Zealand used to open up business class awards 60 days prior to flight. Then they stopped. With a couple of brief exceptions there really hasn’t been meaningful Air New Zealand business class award space in years.
Right now though there is peak business class award space, a little in November and January but quite a lot in December, on Air New Zealand between Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Houston and Auckland.
