Limited Fire Reported At New York JFK’s Terminal 1

In news first reported by aviation watchdog JonNYC, New York JFK’s terminal 1 appears to have caught fire and this is impacting operations somewhat.

Airline Tariff Publishing Company’s Jason Rabinowitz confirms that the terminal currently has ‘no or only limited power.'”

The current terminal 1, opened in 1998, is in the location of the old Eastern Airlines terminal. It serves a collection of foreign carriers including Air France, Korean Air, and Lufthansa as well as Air China, Air New Zealand, Saudia, EgyptAir, Air Serbia, Azores Airlines, Philippine Airlines and several others most people have never heard of.

However there’s no FAA airspace update related to JFK at this time.

    As do several other well-known airlines, including:

    – Cayman Airways

    – Norse Atlantic
    – Saudia
    – TAP
    – Turkish Airlines
    – Viva Aerobus
    – Volaris
