The Cool Gift American Airlines Sent To Its Super Secret ‘Concierge Key’ Members
Concierge Key is the status that American Airlines gives to its top spending customers and top corporate travel influencers. It became legendary when George Clooney was portrayed as a Concierge Key member on a quest to earn 10 million miles in Up In The Air.
American usually sends chocolates each year to Concierge Key members. This year’s package is better. A reader generously shared photos.
Major Ice Storm Cancelled 40% Of American Airlines Flights, But The Lack Of Recovery Is On Them
Nearly 40% of the American Airlines schedule was cancelled on Friday. Thirty percent of its schedule was cancelled on Saturday. And that shouldn’t come as any surprise. Texas experienced a severe ice storm, and American Airlines is headquartered at Dallas – Fort Worth airport.
The problem isn’t just that they couldn’t take off and land on ice Thursday, or through continued challenging conditions on Friday. It’s that the airline doesn’t recover well.
The Power Of American Airlines Loyalty Points To Drive Consumer Behavior
A reader shares how changes to the AAdvantage program’s elite status-earning drove his behavior in making a major purchase – Super Bowl tickets – and this story perfectly underscores how ‘Loyalty Points’ are changing the game in loyalty marketing and American’s position relative to competitors.
American Has Firmed Orders For 30 New 737 MAXs, Delayed Delivery Of 787-9s
American Airlines has converted options on 30 Boeing 737 MAX 8s into firm orders and – as I told you to expect recently – delayed delivery of some Boeing 787-9s in a way that should allow for those planes to become more useful to the carrier.
You Should Inspect That Airline Blanket Before Using It
Airlines are all promoting enhanced cleaning standards but the truth is often that may just mean a weekly spray of the cabin. Airline ‘deep cleans’ used to happen just every year or year and a half which is just gross.
But what about those airline blankets? A blanket in sealed plastic should be clean. However dog poo on a Delta blanket made it onto the Conan show a few years back. And this American Airlines blanket doesn’t look great, either.
American Airlines Targets Spring Re-Opening Of Dallas And Chicago Flagship Lounges
American Airlines has re-opened its Flagship business class lounges at New York JFK, Miami and Los Angeles. Flagship First Dining for long haul first class passengers has reopened at JFK and Miami. However the lounges in Dallas and Chicago remain closed.
Fortunately American Airlines is now talking up a target for their re-opening.
Alaska Airlines Introducing Dynamic Award Pricing On American Airlines Flights
Alaska Airlines says they’re introducing dynamically-priced awards on American Airlines. There are some folks freaking out and I am not sure that they should be.
There’s a note on the Alaska Airlines partner award charts saying that American Airlines award prices are going to start to “vary depending on demand.”
American’s DFW Airport Flagship Lounge Is, Actually, Secretly Open For Use
The re-opening of the Dallas – Fort Worth American Airlines international business class Flagship Lounge keeps getting delayed. Officially there’s no announced re-opening date, though it looked ready to re-open in late fall and there was a push to staff up for it.
In fact, though, the space is open and being used for some passengers.
Crowded American Airlines Charlotte Club Now Has Lines To Get In
With only the smaller B concourse club available for passengers to spend time in while waiting for flights, it’s become overrun. While there have been some members talking about a ‘wait list’ to get in, an American Airlines spokesperson explains, “a representative manages the line outside of the Admirals Club. The rep will let guests in as others leave. First come first serve for our members.”
