Transatlantic Saver Business Class Award Space For Whole Family On American Airlines

One flight I like right now for redemption is American’s Charlotte – Frankfurt service where I’m seeing 4 business class saver awards on a majority of flights in November and for January through March.

What’s useful about this is the connectivity in and out of Charlotte, much of it pairable with this daily Boeing 777-200 flight.

Piedmont (American Eagle) Pilots Get Big Raise

American Airlines wholly-owned regional carrier Piedmont has come to an agreement for more pay with its pilots union.

I’ve heard from flight attendants at Piedmont none too happy, because they’ve waited several years for a new contract. Of course pilots are in much greater demand by airlines and harder to replace, and unhappy pilots directly affect an airline’s operation (while unhappy flight attendants ‘merely’ mean unhappy customers).

These New American Airlines Meals May Be On Board First Class Soon

The airline has has said that we’ll see hot meals on trays “gradually return” over “the next several months” and also that regional carriers are going to offer real food on flights over 900 miles, similar to when mainline flights receive meals.

American Puts Boxed Meals On Trays As It Prepares To Restore First Class Meal Service

Weeks ago I reported that American Airlines was working to bring back hot meals to domestic first class over the coming months, replacing cold meal boxes.

The biggest challenge is supply chain, and that it takes time to ramp up this up after not having offered ‘real’ food on most flights for over a year. However we’re starting to see progress along these lines, and more details on what to expect.
