While I don’t fly American as much as I once did – AAdvantage was once so rewarding that going somewhere meant just looking for flights at AA.com – they’re still a major player at my home airport. And there’s a lot that I am looking forward to with them in 2025.

In fact there are five things I’m very excited for from American Airlines in the new year. We should see several big improvements have been years in the making.

‘This Is A Race Thing’: Black Woman Forced Off American Airlines After White Man Claimed He Felt Threatened By Her In First Class

She says she was physically pushed off her flight and that a flight attendant declares “this is a race thing.” Her partner was removed from the flight as well.

Here you can see her being removed from the aircraft. She asks for police, because she doesn’t understand what she’s done to get kicked off. You can see a flight attendant waving ‘bye bye’ at her as she leaves the plane and is walked up the jet bridge.

American Airlines Bring Back Espresso For Boeing 777 Business Class

American Airlines stopped catering the espresso machines on board their Boeing 777, Boeing 787, and Airbus A321T aircraft during the pandemic. The “frothing wands, cups, saucers, brewing pods” were taken off of planes, according to the airline.

This returned to some aircraft in spring 2022. However, Boeing 777-200s didn’t get catered, and Boeing 777-300ERs only got espresso in first class. That’s changed!

American Airlines Crew Fired After Removing Black Passengers For ‘Odor’: Lawsuit Settled Following Major Policy Overhaul

In January, eight black men were removed from an American Airlines Phoenix – New York flight ostensibly due to their odor. The men did not know each other and were not traveling together.

The airline has now settled a lawsuit filed by three of the men – and changed their rules for kicking passengers off of flights.
