Bank of America accidentally tipped its hand early on a revamped Air France-KLM Flying Blue credit card, with new perks that meaningfully accelerate elite status earning. The annual fee stays $89, existing cardmembers get the changes in March, and the updated XP bonuses make Silver, Gold, and even Platinum far more reachable through spend than before.
For Alaska Airlines customers who redeem points with a companion once a year, the annual companion award covers the cost of the annual fee completely. And this card is an Alaska Airlines tool – fee waivers, travel delay credits, points flexibility (family pooling, hotel transfers) and credit towards elite status.
Alaska Airlines announced this week that the move to a single loyalty program with Hawaiian Airlines will come this summer, and that they’ll also launch a premium credit card at that time.

Bank of America adopted two new rules for card approval over the last two years. Now they have another one that is either stricter – or less strict – than Chase’s 5/24, depending on whether you have a banking relationship with them.
Bank of America has several lesser-known but still excellent rewards credit cards. They will approve at most 2 cards every 2 months, 3 cards every 12 months, and 4 cards every 24 months. That limit applies to Bank of America cards only, rather than being like Chase which looks at the cards you’ve opened from all sources.
