$49 Flights to Europe (Brussels, Dublin, Frankfurt, London) from 4 US Cities
Airline investor Indigo Partners threw Wow Air a lifeline and Wow Air is partying with $49 flights to Europe.
From BWI I see January 21 through March 11 available to Brussels, Dublin, Frankfurt, London, and Iceland. There are similar offerings from Newark, Detroit, and Boston. This sale ends January 18 but limited inventory will sell out faster than that.

Man Tried to Smuggle 19 Raptor Eggs Around His Waist, But 2 Of Them Hatched
A man trying to smuggle 19 raptor eggs in a belt around his waist was tripped up by security at London Heathrow airport because two of the eggs hatched.
The 56 year old man was enroute from South Africa to Ireland on Tuesday, June 26 when the presence of adorably cuddly birds of prey made themselves known.
FARE ALERT: Several Cities – Even West Coast – to Europe From $263 Roundtrip
Right now there’s the lowest fare available that I’ve seen between the West Coast and Europe in awhile. You can fly San Francisco to London for as little as $263 roundtrip. And it’s not even a basic economy fare, it’s on Icelandair which gives you an advance seat assignment, a carry on bag at no extra charge.
But that’s not all, fares between the US and Europe are available from a variety of cities and on several airlines, each with a Google Flights link that’ll pull up a sample itinerary at the current lowest fare:
50 Live Crocodiles Seized at London Heathrow
Last Friday 50 crocodiles were found at London’s Heathrow airport. The saltwater crocodiles were all about one year old and were supposed to be headed for a farm where they would be bred for their meat. In my experience crocodiles taste like chicken.
These crocs originated in Malaysia and were being shipped illegally — because of how they were packed.
Singapore’s New Suites and Double Bed Business Class Coming to London and Hong Kong
Singapore Airlines is introducing fantastic new products for their Airbus A380s. They have 5 new planes replacing 5 that are being returned to their lessor, and those are being delivered over the next year. They’ll be introduced into service with the new first suites and new business class that offers double beds for passengers traveling together.
The plane has flown to Sydney, and now we know its next two destinations.

Two American Airlines International Upgrades
The Upgrade: Travel Better blog discusses American’s discounted business fares that include upgrades to 3-cabin first class. Meanwhile, American is launching non-stop service from Chicago to Shannon, Ireland using domestic configured aircraft. As with their existing Boston to Manchester, England flights, they’ll use a Boeing 757 with 22 domestic first class seats. Only thing is they’re selling only coach for these flights, and providing coach service. But American and Oneworld elites can reserve these seats like any other. Not a great international upgrade, but better than coach, much like the Premium Economy products offered by international carriers.
British Airways London On Sale
British Airways has an interesting sale running from the U.S. to the U.K. (You may need to be logged into a British Airways Executive Club account to see the page.) Coach (“World Traveller”) from several cities for less than $400 roundtrip — okay, so far so good, this is frequently available in late October, November, and December (though the price cutting starts early this year). But perhaps more interestingly, World Traveller Plus — their premium economy product, think something like U.S. domestic first class — is available for about $585 roundtrip. That’s an upgrade that seems worth it to me. I’d guess the hassles flying in and out of London are affecting BA’s bookings…
