“Fly With This Broken Seat Or Miss Your Flight”: United Passenger Kicked Off After Reporting A Safety Hazard

Jun 02 2025

A United Airlines passenger flying from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Denver on flight 5339 – a CRJ-700 regional jet operated by SkyWest, found his seat cushion detached and on the ground of the aircraft when he boarded. He naturally let a flight attendant know – but this turned out to be a grave mistake. The man was given an ultimatum.

American Airlines Wifi Overhaul: Why You’ll Be Left Completely Offline On Some Flights For A Year

Jan 09 2025

I’m really looking forward to these planes having functional wifi. It won’t be as good as the Starlink that United will be installing, and offering to passengers for free, but it will solve a pain point that’s kept me mostly off of them. However I’m going to have them even more off of my ‘do not fly’ list until the process is completed because the chance of no internet at all is even worse than slow internet.

Flight Attendant Shares: How Passengers And Rookie Pilot Joined Mile High Club On Nashville Flight

May 19 2024

‘Spicy Flight Attendant’ Cierra Misst, who used to work regional jets for Republic Airways which is an Express carrier for American, United and Delta, is back on social media after having her accounts banned as the result of complaints by other cabin crew.

She’s now claiming that she worked a flight to Nashville, where the crew would overnight, where the passengers were all bachelor and bachelorette party groups. Everyone got handsy, several people joined the Mile High Club – including a new pilot.

YUCK: American Airlines Bringing More 50 Seat Regional Jets On Board

But that may not be true for every route Air Wisconsin operates for American. It’ll be a downgrade in passenger experience, but still a better passenger experience than a wagon train or horse drawn carriage.

Piedmont (American Eagle) Pilots Get Big Raise

Aug 25 2021

American Airlines wholly-owned regional carrier Piedmont has come to an agreement for more pay with its pilots union.

I’ve heard from flight attendants at Piedmont none too happy, because they’ve waited several years for a new contract. Of course pilots are in much greater demand by airlines and harder to replace, and unhappy pilots directly affect an airline’s operation (while unhappy flight attendants ‘merely’ mean unhappy customers).

Small Regional Jets Usually Lack The Most Important Covid Protection, But American Airlines Is Adding It

Oct 15 2020

HEPA air filtration seems to be one of the reasons that Covid-19 doesn’t appear to spread very much on planes.

Many smaller planes, including 50 seat regional jets, do not usually have HEPA air filtration. That’s one reason why I’ve suggested staying away from small planes during the pandemic. However Piedmont Airlines, a regional carrier owned by American Airlines, now has FAA permission to change that.

According to the Senior Vice President of Air Operations at the American Airlines wholly-owned regional carrier Envoy Air, “all of the E-175s and E-145s that we parked as a result of COVID-19 [are expected to be] returned to service by June 3.”

In addition all of the 20 Embraer 175 regional jets that had been operated by Compass are being brought into the Envoy Air fleet “over the next few months.” The first one, aircaft N208AN, was sent to Abilene for conformity checks by Eagle Aviation Services prior to entering revenue service.
