Jiro’s son Takashi Ono tells me that growing up his father didn’t believe a meal was a time for drinking or talking. It was a time for concentrating on food. In some ways I feel bad for Jiro Ono, because his quest for true perfection made him famous, and that fame brought diners who wanted to collect the experience rather than experience the meal.

Someone spread their hair across my seat back on a flight once. I placed my chewing gum in that person’s hair and also dunked the split ends in my salad dressing container.
Well that’s not being very diverse, equitable, or inclusive is it? The police are being meanies again.
Yet we have people that are LGBT (and whatever else) that act like the Middle East is mecca for gay and trans people.
