Uncovering United’s Hidden Award Chart Changes [Roundup]

News and notes from around the interweb:

  • United Airlines no longer publishes a free seat award chart, but they still priced based on one. (Always and everywhere the elimination of award charts means continued points inflation. Dan’s Deals compiled the current pricing chart.

  • This is a bizarre story.

  • Why is hotel room service so hard to stomach? (WaPo) I seem to be the only one willing to defend room service, for some uses cases and in certain hotels, and also (didn’t make it into the story) it’s not like UberEats and DoorDash are great.

  • NYU student who commutes to Florida for an internship clearly not to save on rent! (HT: Paul H) This seems to be a trend though.

  • 20% rebate on Turkish Airlines awards book and travel by August 31, 2024, though oddly rebated miles will expire December 31, 2025 and only miles redeemed for the member’s travel and not for others are eligible for the rebate. And they’re doing this right after imposing a mileage devaluation.

  • Sketchy.
