36% Discount on Travelocity Hotel Stays By Stacking Discounts

Travelocity is offering 20% off a minimum $800 hotel purchase using promo code AMEX20H (purchase by August 16 for travel through December 31). Price is reduced instantly.

Then, if you’re traveling by September 30, the American Express Link, Like, Love promotion can get you another 20% off in the form of a statement credit. (Minimum $350 spend and 3 nights. This can only be used once per cardmember.)

These two combine for a 36% discount.

Sadly, I don’t believe that the Travelocity American Express is eligible for the Amex Link, Like, Love promotion (because the card is issued by Barclays), or else you could get another 10% rebate on your actual spend. Wow.

But without that, an $800 3-night stay consumed by September 30th will cost you $512. Not bad.

  1. Just tried using the code w/ a dummy booking using the parameters above and it said the code has already reached it’s limit for usage…

  2. Same here…I tried to do an actual booking that satisfied all of the requirements but the site rejected my request because the maximum number of users have been reached. I called customer service and asked if they can honor the code or provide an alternative, but the rep said that it is “on a first come, first serve basis.” I haven’t used Travelocity in the last two years, and after this nonsense I won’t be using them anytime soon.

  3. I got the same thing as scott above. I was actually on the lookout for 3 nights in NYC for around 500 total, so this was perfect. Too good to be true, though.

  4. According to flyertalk, this is alive again. I could not get it to work online, but called and the rep made it work. $1070 reduced to $684 after both discounts.
My issue is that I am Hhonors gold and booked 4 nights at Hilton Waikoloa. I assume there is no way to get hhonors points for the paid stay according to Terms and conditions. Does anyone know of a way to earn points on this?

  5. I just booked a trip and got the code to apply, then instantly received an email from AMEX saying that I saved with this promo. I think the key in the fine print is that this has to be a “good buy” hotel on Travelocity. There is a small logo below the hotel listing that will let you know if it is one or not.
