It appears that the link for free, instant Platinum status with Accor A|Club that I first posted back in October seems to be working again.
As I explained at the time,
Platinum status generally requires 60 nights (or 25,000 points earned) and comes with a 100% points bonus and then at Sofitel, Pullman, and MGallery hotels: room upgrades that the rules say you specifically have to ask for, 4pm late checkout, guaranteed availability, and a welcome drink and gift.
I’ve always found it odd that A|Club elite status doesn’t get you recognition at Novotel properties, but still being Platinum which is their top tier is certainly better than a hole in the head as my grandfather used to say — especially when the status is instant and free.
There was also a Platinum status offer in November, these come around from time to time, it takes just a couple of minutes to sign up and you never know when you might wind up staying in a Sofitel, seems worth having the status.
Meanwhile, there are reports in the comments of this December 31 post that the free Hilton Gold status offer is still working, check out the comments for six digit codes that are still functional.
It works!
Based on the last go-round, were any of the other chains status-matching this? What did it take to get the status matched?
any word on how long it lasts, forever?
It works thank you so much
Yes, Gary could you suggest any matching strategy for hotels?
confirmed works! thanks!!
I tried status match with Carlson, who didn’t recognize AClub status, and Hyatt, who would only offer their Diamond Challenge. Would love to hear anybody else with success with other chains!
Does this work if I already took advantage of the Accor Gold?
I should note that Carlson did match my Hilton Gold and my wife’s Starwood Gold. We are both now Carlson Silvers.
Carlson matched my Hilton Gold and now I am Carlson gold, hilton gold and Accor club platinum for staying 0 day at any hotels
This is wonderful
It didn’t work for me before, still does not work for me now (I am a Gold through previous promotion of this sort). I just get a message “Invalid identification. Please try again or use another e-mail address.” when I put my email in.
@Michael I imagine you probably need a new account, which could then be merged.
@flyingbear open a new account and then have the two accounts merged if you wish
Excellent, worked perfectly. And as it happens I’m going to be staying at a Sofitel in about two weeks, so the timing is perfect. Thanks a lot for the tip!
It’s a shame there aren’t more Sofitels in the US. I don’t see myself in a Motel 6 anytime soon…
Worked! Thanks Gary!
@Steelsnow – Carlson matched my wife’s Accor Platinum with Club Carlson Gold, but denied me the same claiming they don’t status match to Accor.
@Duc – They matched Hilton Gold to Club Carlson Gold? I thought they matched Highest level (Hilton Diamond) to their mid-tier (Gold) and mid-tier (Hilton Gold) to their lowest level (silver)?
Ike
does Starwood match other chain’s status levels?
@Joe they’ll offer a challenge not a match. And Hyatt now requires showing actual stays not just status…
It works! Thank you
The Accor free platinum status is asking me for a contract # – what is that? Thanks
So if you say you’re platinum but don’t specifically ask for a room upgrade, Sofitel won’t offer one to you?
It isn’t work ((
what to do ? ((
Once again I’m too late… it”s not working anymore… :-((((
