Reader Dan B. passes along that Hotels.com is offering a rebate for bookings — $20 back for 3 night booking up to $100 back for a 12 night booking.
You have to enter promo code REBATES13 at checkout when making your booking to be eligible for the offer. You’ll have to mail in a coupon after your stay. Rebates will be credited back to the card used for purchase. You can only redeem the rebate once for bookings made by December 31 for stays through January 31.
Of course, in some way this is just an alternative to getting cash back for your bookings. Other pseudo-cash back options are getting miles instead of money from either PointsHound or Rocketmiles.
You can double dip with Hotels.com’s loyalty program. And you can double dip with loyalty points and elite status credit on some hotel via PointsHound.
- You can join the 30,000+ people who see these deals and analysis every day — sign up to receive posts by email (just one e-mail per day) or subscribe to the RSS feed. It’s free. Don’t miss out!
From my experience, you can’t use a coupon/promo code and get Hotels.com Welcome Rewards…it’s one or the other.
@Ivan, yes, I think that applies to most (all?) these types of promotions. If they are at least 5%, I normally use them because it’s money now vs. the promise of money in the future.
But you can go through a shopping portal though. Befrugal.com or Discovery CC offer 5% cashback – it takes way too long to post, but it always shows up in my experience.
This code works with cashback sites and welcome rewards. I got all three.:)
wow, $100 rebate is quite good
A decent hassle for $4.28-8.33/night. It’s ridiculous that these kinds of mail-in promotions still exist in 2013 but I’m sure that keeps their costs down for the high % that don’t follow through.
link above says it has expired but hotels.com at coupon mountain stioll appears, little wary of them,is it expired or not
