News and notes from around the interweb:

• Uber referral credits are now worth only $10 for new members (and for the person referring them) but new users can still get $25 with their first use (HT: Delta Points)
  
• Back in February South American airline (and then-Star Alliance member, now member of oneworld) TAM started releasing most of their first class seats as awards. Those seats were still available, and I booked some myself. Though TAM had pretty much never released first class awards before in any meaningful way, the availability remained even after TAM joined oneworld a month ago. The seats certainly weren’t selling, and now we learn that TAM is eliminating first class altogether after November 1.
  
• Flying Blue 50% off Promo Awards for July/August travel are out. Book in May, travel in July and August, and the best deals are between Dallas and anywhere in Europe on KLM in business class and between Washington Dulles and anywhere in Europe on either Air France or KLM in business.

  These are 31,250 points each way plus taxes and fuel surcharges, and availability out of Washington Dulles is outstanding.

  You can transfer points into Flying Blue instantly from American Express Membership Rewards and not instantly from Starwood Preferred Guest.
  

• Virgin Atlantic may have the worst miles but there are still some good uses for their points. (Transfers to Hilton are not one of them any longer.) For those that do find them useful, then American Express has a 30% transfer bonus through May 31.
  
• SriLankan Airlines was expected to join oneworld yesterday, and indeed did so.

  Worth noting that Bangalore, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Tiruchirappalli in India as well as Male in the Maldives are short hops from Colombo, Sri Lanka that will only cost 4500 British Airways points each way. (Of course many of these short hops are also quite inexpensive to buy.)

  In Europe SriLankan flies to Frankfurt, London Heathrow, Paris, and Rome and they serve major destinations in Asia like Tokyo, Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Guangzhou as well plus several cities in the Middle East.
  

• Skift has some advice for me.
