AMAZING $354 New York – Hong Kong Roundtrip

Via SecretFlying, there’s currently availability to fly New York – Hong Kong roundtrip for an incredible $354.

Most of the flying is on Air Canada, and it’s an Air Canada fare (fare basis KLXUNV) available for outbound travel August 21 through December 11.

You have to fly the transpacific segment using Air Canada on a Monday through Thursday in each direction. Minimum stay is 3 days from departure of your last flight, and maximum stay is 6 months. Tickets are non-refundable.

Air Canada international K fares earn 50% mileage if credited to United MileagePlus. It’s a long way to fly in coach — over 8800 miles in each direction — so I won’t be taking advantage but many readers will want to.

  1. Isn’t the YVR-HKG segment operated by AC’s 77HD, their 777-300ER with 458 passengers, 398 in economy? If so, I think I’d have to be *paid* for that. It is by far the smallest coach seat of any international longhaul flight.

  2. I think there is 100+ page long thread on flyertalk about how bad the 777HD is. I have also seen it described as a slave barge on another flyertalk thread. Reviews of that plane are pretty consistently negative

  3. Yeah, I’ve been on an AC777 in economy once before. I’m all about good deals and love to fly, but I’m in no hurry to fly AC again.

  4. Air Canada Flight Attendants are as trashy as Trailer Trash United/Delta and nasty American Geshtapo Flight Attendants. So, I do not care how great of a deal is.. I will not fly any US Carrier or Air Canada for that matter.
I recently booked an amazing award ticket and went out of my way not to fly AC or UA. It is JMK-ATH-IST-OPO-LIS-BOS, all with 30k UA miles but no segments on UA. A3/TK/TAP only

  5. I flew long-haul AC many years ago – not wonderful but maybe tolerable if you are young and don’t have much cash. For everyone else this will be pure torture. but I guess 100s of people do it every day so might as well pay the low price.

  6. Boraxo: AC has gotten *much worse* as they’ve squeezed many more seats into their 777s.

From latest reading, it looks like pretty much all of their longhaul is extremely high-density now, including YVR-HKG.
