News and notes from around the interweb:
- When Amtrak announced two weeks ago that former Delta Airlines CEO Richard Anderson would become their next CEO, I wrote to expect “densification (more seats, less legroom) and unbundling (more fees).”
I didn’t expect news of changes to come so quickly. Apparently Amtrak is already planning more less comfortable seats. On most routes that’s just silly, of course, since the trains already run empty.

One way rentals are available and “[m]embers can now cancel up until their scheduled pick-up time, and their miles will be refunded at no cost.”

@Gary – What are the best ways to get a lot of Philippine Airlines miles in a hurry without flying? Thanks.
@Christian problem is that I don’t believe Citi transfers are instant..
@ Christian, do you specifically need Philippine Airlines Mabuhay Miles or ways to redeem for Philippine Airline (PAL) tickets? You can redeem for PAL tickets through Etihad Guest or ANA Mileage Club. If you have an American Express card (that earns Membership Rewards points) issued in the United States, than you can transfer Membership Rewards points to either Etihad Guest or ANA Mileage Club. FYI-the rewards rates through ANA Mileage CLub is more reasonable than Etihad Guest.
