A week ago Hyatt was pricing several hotels below their normal published cash and points award prices. Most of those deals are no longer available.
However Extreme Hotel Deals found several hotels that are currently charging less than they are ‘supposed to’ for cash and points.

Here’s the ‘normal’ cash and points award chart, and the value you get at each level.
And here are the deals available right now:
Hotel | Current Price | Normal Price | Savings
Hyatt Hyderabad Gachibowli | $17 + 2500 points | $50 + 2500 points | $33
Park Hyatt Hyderabad | $34 + 4000 points | $55 + 4000 points | $21
Hyatt House Pittsburgh-South Side | $35 + 4000 points | $55 + 4000 points | $20
Hyatt Place Washington DC/US Capitol | $50 + 6000 points | $75 + 6000 points | $25
Hyatt House Jersey City | $80 + 10,000 points | $125 + 10,000 points | $45 |
This is a great sale though in any given case always compare to the paid rates at a property. In general I’ve seen Hyatt honor these, though as always it’s possible a property might get seller’s remorse so it’s a good idea not to make non-refundable travel plans around the booking for a few days to make sure everything remains intact.
Gary – can’t say for sure but there could be one explanation for the Hyatt’s in India (based on my personal experience)
India forces hotels to charge a luxury tax on all stays. I have had instances where the hotel cash portion of C&P award is reduced offset the mandatory luxury tax.
In other words, reduced cash portion + luxury tax ~= original cash portion.
Off-topic, but I’ve discovered that at Hyatts that have a Resort Fee, full-on award stays are exempt–but P&C stays do pay it! Such as HR Sarasota!
I just stayed at the Park Hyatt Buenos Aires for only 10k points and $125……thought that was a great deal for such a nice property.
