1000 Free Points for Joining Hilton HHonors

There’s a Russian offer for Aeroflot members that gives new members 1000 points for joining the Hilton HHonors program by July 31.

Google Chrome will happily translate the page from Russian into your preferred language. And once you sign up you can change your earnings preference away from Aeroflot miles and to whatever you wish (such as bonus HHonors points, or miles in another program).

  1. Gary,

Given the devaluation of Hilton points, is it now (in general) advantageous to take miles instead of points when staying at a Hilton property?

  2. Sorry I think I may be missing something. Don’t you need to stay at one of the Hilton hotels before you can get the bonus points? As per requirements:

    (4) to complete one or more of the shares under the terms of stays at participating hotels and resorts in the portfolio of hotel brands Hilton HHonors from April 15 to July 31, 2013, and (5) to register for HHonors.com / Aeroflotstaymoreru before leaving the hotel.

  3. To clarify, I meant the 1000 Hilton bonus points. I registered for HHonors through the promotion, but the points haven’t listed in my account. Does anyone know if there is a waiting period?

  4. @Caleb, yes, I believe Hilton has 2 tiers to select when you earn HHonor Points and Miles: you can select the flat 500 miles per night/stay or the variable miles depending on the amount you charge on your stay. Generally, short/cheap stays should go with the 500 flat rate, and chose the variable option for longer/more expensive stays.

  5. 1000 points at 0.4 cents each is $4.00. Make sure this is worth it to you before you spend the effort.
