Cough: “Travel is So Important, It Leaves You Speechless And Makes You a Storyteller”
Travel is great. And I understand the world far better seeing it, tasting it, and experiencing it than merely reading about it. Once you start doing it the world does seem smaller and more accessible, and it can be less expensive or more comfortable (or less expensive and more comfortable) than you thought.
But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t make fun of people annoying you incessantly by preaching about it.

Terrible: Tourist Kicks Hotel Maid Unconscious
Hotel housekeeping is a tough job. It’s a dirty job, cleaning up after guests some of whom are terrible. And it’s a physically demanding job as well which must be done quickly given the number of rooms that a given staff member must clean in a day.
But as difficult as housekeeping jobs are, no one signs up for this.
Bonus Miles for International Flights on 10 Airlines — But Only If You Fly Economy
Alaska Airlines is doing things differently, as a business strategy. It has the operational reliability of Delta (or better) and the financial performance of Delta (or better, relative to size).
And it’s working to make its customers happy, with a frequent flyer program that’s different than others in the U.S. They still award miles based on distance flown rather than ticket price. Six weeks ago they re-affirmed their commitment to a generous frequent flyer program and upgrades.
Why Do We Make Such Poor Choices on Planes? (Cabin Temperature Edition)
I mentioned in my report on flying Etihad first class Dallas Fort Worth – Abu Dhabi that the cabin was hot and I woke up mid-sleep sweating.
European and especially Asian carriers tend to keep the temperature on their planes hot. JAL can be like a sauna. US airline flights tend to be at a cooler temperature.
