The Only Hotel Opening Next Year I’m Genuinely Excited For

A couple of days ago the developers of the new TWA Hotel unveiled a model guest room for the property that opens next year. It’s not inside the old TWA terminal itself (yet). Instead the guest room and hotel hallway are inside a vacant hangar at JFK Airport’s Building 87.

Inside the building is Jack Frye’s desk and chair, he was President of TWA from 1934 to 1947. They’ve even got TWA fire extinguishers. Yes the hotel will have a TWA museum.

Wow: Former Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee Jokes About Dead Southwest Passenger

Former Arkansas Governor and Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee is a Delta Diamond medallion and has a love-hate relationship with Delta, occasionally complaining about their telephone reps.

Today he let it be known on Twitter than he was sitting in coach. And he was none too happy about the experience — joking about the passenger killed on Southwest to make his point.

American Airlines President Explains the Downside to Giving Employees Raises

Mechanics at American Airlines don’t have a new joint contract yet after the merger. There are US Airways and American legacy work groups, and everyone wants the best of both contracts. That would be far more expensive than the airline is willing to pay – and more expensive than what competitors pay.

American Airlines President Robert Isom explained to employees in Philadelphia this week that the raises the company handed out make getting to a new contract harder.

TSA Makes Fun of Silent Bob’s Clothes

Mark Zuckerberg, when he’s not testifying before Congress, famously always wears the same t-shirt. He has plenty of them. That way he doesn’t have to think about what he’s going to wear that day, and can focus all his thinking on Facebook. Or so the story goes.

Kevin Smith, the writer/director of movies like Clerks and Chasing Amy, almost always wears a hockey jersey. So that’s what’s on his drivers license.
