Up to 43% Off Singapore Airlines Awards From the U.S. on New Non-Stop Flights

Singapore Airlines offers much better award availability to people using their own KrisFlyer miles than to people using miles from partner frequent flyer programs like United.

Fortunately it’s easy to get KrisFlyer miles because Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer is a transfer partner of Chase, American Express, and Citibank. Fun fact: It’s no surprise that Singapore Airlines and Air France, two of the better transfer partners of bank programs, are linked up with all three of the major bank transferable currencies because both charge less for their points than most other airlines.

Right now Singapore Airlines is offering discounts on awards for their non-stop flights between the US and Singapore: business for the price of premium economy, and premium economy for the price of coach, which means up to 43% off.

Singapore Airlines is re-launching the world’s longest flight, Newark – Singapore, next month. Then on November 2 they’re re-launching Singapore – Los Angeles non-stop (a route that United is walking away from). And December 7 they’re adding a second (3x weekly) San Francisco non-stop. They’ll be flying Airbus A350-900 ultra long range aircraft outfitted with premium economy and business only on these new flights.

These discounted awards are bookable online. They initial show regular price but click through and they’ll show the discounted pricing automatically. When flights were first loaded into the schedule business award space was fantastic now it’s more modest though premium economy space remains good.

Redemptions must be made online with all tickets issued by September 30. No changes are cancellations permitted. Singapore Airlines no longer adds fuel surcharges to awards for travel on their own flights.

  1. What’s the trick to searching for award availability on Singapore’s website? I am logged into my Krisflyer account, but can only see cash prices. I don’t see any option to show the number of KrisFlyer miles required or how to apply them.

  2. Ignore–seems like it took some time for my new KrisFlyer account to become active and show the “Redeem Flights” radio button on the flight search page.

  3. Inaugural to SFO is scheduled for 11/28. SQ34. Seat map is for ULR as well as discounted price. I’m on it! The special rate states travel is from 11/1 to 11/30 inclusive.

  4. I’m booked LAX-SIN in business in mid-November. Will the ULR feature the same seats as on the standard A350, or a different version?
