Back in February Delta had to apologize for a creepy inflight napkin.
Delta’s napkins encouraged passengers to give fellow travelers unsolicited phone numbers in hopes of… well, you know what it’s in hopes of. They had a space to write in your name and number, and encouraged you to give it to “your plane crush.”
Napkins received from @Delta on Wednesday flight seem unintentionally creepy, especially after reading the smaller print. Swing and a miss, @DietCoke. pic.twitter.com/eKaMruqqUR

Now Delta is back with awkward on board napkins, once again meaning well but being taken the wrong way by passengers.
Delta is just encouraging passengers to get out into the world — although since they’re on board, they probably don’t need the encouragement. However the napkins are awkwardly phrased, and the message is easy to stumble over.
This is distressingly easy to misread pic.twitter.com/RmenNP7kJB

Here’s how people are reading the message:
i actually photoshopped this on my flight because my mother and i both misread it pic.twitter.com/DXQgiepiPI

According to Delta the napkins are part of their ‘close the gaps’ campaign and aren’t intended to diminish customers’ self-esteem.
news? really?
@KL: Useful comment? Really?
@Ken,
I’m calling out the OP for posting non newsworthy info. Do you have anything useful to say?
@KL Good “call out,” bro! Way to be useful.
Yawn….
i think it’s funny.
That last one is hilarious. Thanks for the laugh. (from a train going to Fes in Morocco).
Everyone’s going bonkers and I’m just here trying to figure out how that phrase could be misread so badly.
Here is a crazy idea: just provide normal napkins and be normal
No one will take you to task for that, Delta
I thought it was fun. Good for them for trying to have a little personality!!
