- South Africa’s Postbank experienced a catastrophic security failure. The bank’s master PIN key was stolen, forcing it to cancel and replace 12 million bank cards. “The bank lost $3.2 million in fraudulent transactions before the theft was discovered. Replacing all the cards will cost an estimated $58 million.”
- Garuda Indonesia will have flight attendants wear face shields instead of face masks so customers can see them smile. Apparently passengers have complained about masks. (American Airlines, for their part, won’t allow flight attendants to wear face shields.)
- Really, Starbucks? They e-mailed me about expiring Stars. It’s true I haven’t been to a Starbucks during the global pandemic. This message really struck me the wrong way, but I suppose it shouldn’t, (1) Alaska Airlines never stopped expiring miles, (2) Stars aren’t worth much anyway, (3) I don’t actually miss Starbucks they were just a source of coffee before a hotel nearby made any available for the day.
- Azul and LATAM Brazil will codeshare, launch frequent flyer partnership
- In the New Terminal at LaGuardia, an Argument for Public Art Amid a Pandemic this seems insane to me as an area to invest presently, given the extent state and local budgets will be crushed by the recession.
- United sweetens voluntary exist packages
- JetBlue will replace many gate agents and baggage handlers with contractors at small stations

i’m annoyed with Stbux also as my 500 stars are going away and the store near me closed permanently //the other ones are drive thru and the lines are 20 cars long!! not nice Stbux ..
I fired determined-to-be- PITA-Starbux a few years ago. They really wanted to be more and more important and I didn’t feel the same.
