News and notes from around the interweb:
- Qantas will re-open its LA, London and Singapore lounges as flights return, while closing its Hong Kong lounge permanently. The Qantas LAX first class lounge is fantastic for the U.S. and the Heathrow lounge perhaps the best business lounge in terminal 3 (while Cathay Pacific is better for first).
- Taiwan’s StarLux plans to eventually join a global alliance. With other Taiwanese carriers in SkyTeam (China Airlines) and Star (EVA) already, that leaves only oneworld – but oneworld member Cathay Pacific is a mere 500 miles away from Taipei.
- Bonus points – and status credits with your first Qatar Airways flight
- Delta is cracking down on unvaccinated employees but their CEO won’t say ‘Delta variant’
- This motel manager broke rules to let this guest have an overnight visitor: Mohammed Atta
- The Biden administration considered a vaccination requirement for domestic travel but that’s not happening, but there’s legislation in the House that would require it, probably going nowhere.
That’s hilarious…has society changed dress codes???
It’s still my fave airline!!!
Delta: Don’t say delta.
Hah ! Now THAT’S funny. Can’t believe that Delta (the airlines) put a smile on my face about the variant-that-shall-not-be-named.
Great way to end the week 🙂
FYI, the “Delta” man is just Jordan Klepper from The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. He is quite funny and does a lot of this type of humor.
Oops,it is Michael Kosta, not Jordan Klepper. My bad.
