- 1710-era residence-turned-hotel on the Delaware River will re-open featuring James Beard award semifinalist chef leading property’s Italian restaurant
Margaret Mitchell wrote a portion of the classic novel “Gone With the Wind” in the dining room, and composers Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart reportedly used an outdoor waterfall and wishing well from near the building as inspiration for the song “There’s a Small Hotel” which debuted in their 1936 musical “On Your Toes.” Many writers like Damon Runyon, who covered the Lindbergh kidnapping and murder trial, lodged at the inn. Novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald, actor Clark Gable and former first lady Jackie Kennedy Onassis stayed at the inn as well.
- Singapore Airlines increases seat selection fees up to 75%
- Bizarre changes to El Al elite status I gave up paying close attention to the Matmid program many years and devaluations ago.
- Hilton’s small business program is offering double elite nights through December 31, 2024 with both business owners and employees receiving the double credit.
- 80% bonus on Chase transfers to IHG in July. This is very, very much not worthwhile in the general case.

- Emirates will finally launch a decent business class on its Boeing 777s for all of the reputation they’ve earned, their current business class seat is ok at best on the A380, and not even direct aisle access on the 777.
The new offering will be a staggered 1-2-1 layout with direct aisle access, minibar at each seat and more storage space. The first flight of the new product will be Geneva on August 11, followed by Tokyo Haneda getting the product September 1 and Brussels September 11.
- Next year you can fly Pan Am: New York-Bermuda-Lisbon-Marseille-London-Foynes-New York
I’d kill to fly that Pan Am trip but I left the $60,000 to pay for it in my other wallet.
As for the AirPods story, his credit card should have been charged up to the maximum it would take before her credit card was charged for the amount left. The forgetting of the AirPods was on her, so solving her frustration physically (I am assuming it was battery in addition to assault) was also on her. I hope she gets better control of her temper. Maybe her free stay has helped.
As for the Singapore Airlines story, I have flown Singapore Airlines only once (RT of four flights and two half day layovers) and if they keep on adding costs to their ticket prices, it will end up being the only time I flew on their airplanes. They were the cheapest right after the Covid-19 restrictions loosened but they no longer are competitive in coach.
Hmmmm, fighting over lost airpods ! Reeeeeeally how childish. You could of easily replaced the lost airpods by purchasing new ones at the airport instead of choosing to act like a fool in an airport and throw your fists about like a moron
Texas is NOT ILLINOIS! Don’t mess with Texas, they won’t put up with it.
Something smells bad with the AirPods story. I do NOT believe the guy is as innocent as he claims. He was probably a richardhead from the start and finally he abused her so much she snapped.
