Watch: American Airlines Baggage Handler Turns Passenger’s Luggage Into A Bowling Ball [Roundup]

News and notes from around the interweb:

  • American Airlines baggage handler bowling in Miami. I give him high marks for form, and think he’s got a chance with the next bag of making a spare.

  • Buying a timeshare is one of the worst decisions you can make so here’s a possible way to get out of a timeshare.

Transfer to a person on death bed. Escrow the maintenance fees. Continue paying the fees from escrow until they die. End of timeshare.

…Suppose that you signed it over to a parent. You are an heir. You can “deny the inheritance” of (only) this piece of the estate with a form, filed within a certain time period within the County where the estate is held. (USA assumed). This does not affect the rest of the estate. (Google search “disclaim a piece of an inheritance “).

…Sounds like a business there. Team up with a hospice business and start selling transfers. I guess there shouldn’t be any limit to how many transfers you could make to the same person.

  • Another reason the Denver airport is a mess

Seventeen people indicted in an alleged car theft ring connected to the Sinaloa Cartel are accused of stealing at least 190 vehicles at or near Denver International Airport and taking them to Mexico to exchange for drugs to distribute in the metro

  • Worldwide, aviation will hit $1 trillion in revenue in 2025 – but profit per passenger is just $7. The most profitable region of the world is the Middle East.Remember when heavily subsidized Delta, United and American tried to get government protectionism – in violation of U.S. treaty obligations – with the claim that Mideast carriers weren’t profitable and too subsidized by their governments?  Here’s 2024 profit per passenger by region from IATA:
    Mideast  $   21.50
    North America  $     9.80
    Europe  $     7.60
    Asia Pacific  $     1.50
    Latin America  $     2.80
    Africa  $     0.70
  • Okey dokey.

  1. The Denver mayor apparently likes having illegal immigrants committing crimes around the city. What’d else you expect?

  2. @GeorgeNRomey

its only a few crimes in a few cities by persons with no human rights in their country, a country that has be destroyed by hundreds of years of whyte oppression. every whyte person in the united states is a multi million air with insurance. who cares if it is a minor inconvenience to a wealthy whyte person if a car gets stolen or your apartment build is taken over. this is how whyte peoples must pay for the crimes they have committed in the past.

  3. This is why I try to only do carry-on, to board early, and to not fly smaller aircraft where force you to gate-check. I’m usually pretty tolerant of others and their rules, but even I become a raging fascist when it comes to retaining custody of my own items on flights. I know, I know, you’ll say: ‘but @1990, you’re a lefty cuck, so you are you not okay with letting go of your material possessions.’ See, that’s where you’re wrong. Just because I prefer to ‘build up’ instead of ‘punch down’ does not mean I’m a commie. I just want to preserve and improve the social safety net for the most vulnerable among us… AND to keep my carry-on so the ground crew cannot go bowling with it.

  4. The solution to 4 wheel roller bag bowling is to use two wheel roller bags or no wheel bags such as my military style duffel bag. The military style duffel is great. It is awkward for me so I know it is awkward for baggage handlers. It is tough to throw and tough for abuse. It has no wheels so it has to be carried (I sometimes move it by balancing it on the top of 25 inch two wheel roller bag). It is filled with items that don’t break. It is lighter than almost any roller bag. Internally I have a backpack so I can take that out and use it for longer foot journeys. The combination of the backpack and duffel bag is still lighter than most roller bags.

  5. My pet theory is the City of Denver does nothing about car thefts at DIA in order to “nudge” people to take the slow, unreliable train to the airport instead.

  6. Airport parking lots are easy pickings for a gang of sophisticated car thieves. It is not only Denver but many other large city airports. I live in the Tucson area and cars are being boosted from TUS and PHX and driven down to Mexico to the chop shops and also being sold complete. Some vehicles are special ordered by unscrupulous customers. A couple of thousand pesos and they can get good papers on the vehicles also.

  7. Equating the Sinaloa Cartel to crime by illegal immigrants is like blaming your TSA agent for the border crisis.
