United Flight Attendant Leaves Risqué Note for Miley Cyrus’ Ex—”I Was Shakin’ Like a Stripper” [Roundup]

News and notes from around the interweb:

  • United Airlines Flight Attendant’s Flirty Note To Miley Cyrus’ Ex “I was low key shakin like a stripper when you entered our gate area”

  • Effective September 18 Amex is imposing a new restriction on Business Platinum 35% points rebates. You’ll only be able to get the rebate when using points to pay for business and first class airfare on your one selected airline for the year. That was already the restriction for coach tickets, now it’ll extend to premium tickets. And of course you’re very limited in the airlines you can pick from.

  • Southwest Airlines ad for assigned seats. Nowhere ad does it mention fees for assigned seats. There is no ad for checked bag fees, expiration of travel credits, devaluation of Rapid Rewards points – or, for that matter, the worst wifi in the industry, no seat back screens or power outlets (only USB on some planes) and no lounges, first class seats, or galley ovens.

  • This is an accurate take.

  • United opens new 60 seat, 1,500 square foot dining room in the Newark Polaris lounge on Friday, utilizing the old ‘Classified’ space. Seats lack power outlets at each seat, so that people don’t linger and work (and outlet costs add up!). The existing dining room will be tables to eat from the buffet.

  • United passengers are warming their stroopwafel and drinking their coffee at the same time. In related news, there’s been an uptick in window shade-related MEL items.

  1. Those stroopwaffles are UA’s response to DL’s Biscoff. Both tasty. But those waffles are like crack.

  2. The latest SWA ad glorifying the seat assignent change and ignoring the reality of all the other changes reminds me of those Visit California commercials that project a fantasy version of a state with severe homeless problems, violent protests and riots, bad air pollution and wide areas of fire damage.

  3. @AlohaDaveKennedy — Wait, so you mean to say that we don’t get to hang out with the Governator when we visit Cali?! What a rip off! (Still love the state though, so count me in anyway.)

  4. To AlohaDaveKennedy: Name a State that does not have issues. Yet they all have a tourism board and millions of people travel and have a wonderful time in those States.

  5. So glad I dumped American Express years ago
Not a big fan of chase but they are better most things considered
Like Amex they are going for extortionate fees now and complicated rebate benefits
Eventually I’ll dump them too and go for cashback
As for Southwest they are directed by their investors who are crooks

  6. @Terraplane — I’ll bite. Vermont. Good food. Nice people. Clean. No crime. Not ‘too diverse.’ Ample activities for all seasons. No wonder they elected a socialist to represent them! Bah.

  7. The Newark Polaris lounge just doesn’t sound very premium for the best airline in history.
