- Rat catches ride to LaGuardia Airport on hood of car
Two women headed to LaGuardia Airport found themselves with the most New York of all hitchhikers — a rat.
The rodent climbed out of the hood of the car on Nov. 11 and apparently decided to ride the rest of the way to the airport.
- The Orlando airport Plaza Premium lounge in terminal C will nearly double its footprint. The current lounge is 9,301 square feet on level four of the terminal, leased through September 30, 2032. It will add 8,761 square feet on level 6, and the lease gets extended by two years. This was addressed October 15 but I don’t believe it’s been reported on.
- I previously reported that Delta would get a massive new Sky Club in Tampa with direct boarding from lounge to plane. There will also be a common use or airport-operated club. I expect something Priority Pass-accessible like The Club, Escape or Plaza Premium.
- Jacksonville airport’s Priority Pass-accessible The Club lounge will re-open in a new location at more than twice the size of the one that closed in August 2024. The old 2,725 square foot lounge gets replaced by one 5,975 square feet in the new Concourse B. Construction begins this summer, and is expected to complete in 2027.

- No annual fee Chase Sapphire (legacy downgrade card) losing Lyft benefits.
- There are about 1.3 million Hilton Diamond members about 50,000 of which are expected to earn Diamond Reserve status next year. That’s based on data which I shared earlier in the week.

I remember in my NYC days when there would be heavy rains the rats would be all over the subway platform. Before the days of cell service in subways the rats doubled as entertainment while you waited for your train. Saw quite a few tourists freaking out.
