Delta and US Airways have announced the cancellation of flights to Israel following a rocket attack miles from the Tel Aviv airport.
United Airlines currently plans to continue its operations, as does El Al. (Update: United has now cancelled its flights as well.)
Delta’s flight today actually turned around and backtracked to Paris. Via FlightAware:
Delta shows its JFK – Tel Aviv flight 456 cancelled for tomorrow as well.
Norwegian and Korean Air flights were already cancelled.

The news says that Delta Air Lines and United Airlines scrap Israel flights! Is that in addition to US Airways?
Seems like travel there is getting dangerous. It’s not just some youths throwing rocks in the street.

Yes, the FAA just issued a directive banning all TLV ops by all US airlines for 24 hours. They couldn’t fly there at the moment even if they wanted to.
At the time I drafted this there had not yet been such an order, or rather the FAA would not confirm such an order.
@Kalboz all 3 have scrapped Israel flights. Perhaps the FAA was working with them before going public with an order. Although it seems that when Delta and US Airways were announcing their cancellations, United was initially saying they were still operating and the FAA said there had been no order. Perhaps a case of communications folks not having full intel.

Where was the FAA the past 2 weeks, as there has been rockets being fired into israel for 2 weeks , to locations even further from gaza than the airport?
It is definitely within range of the terrorist rockets
Perhaps this is the US State Department and EU’s way of pressuring Israel to agree to Hamas’s ridiculously unreasonable terms for ceasefire?
