Not surprising that Barclays is aggressively pursuing other partners after losing AA. Jet Blue was probably low hanging fruit as a non legacy, so it’s not surprising they offered a better deal than Amex wanted to when Amex has lots of other thriving products.
What Amex needs to worry a lot more about is that the billions of Sky Miles they purchased on behalf of their customers are becoming less valuable with each passing day.
Gary,
I have two questions regarding this:
1. Do you know how much longer for which one will still be able to apply for the Amex Jetblue card?
2. Is it worth applying for the Amex for 20000 points since the card will soon be gone? I am not sure how much Jetblue points are worth.
