I’m not sure the reason. Perhaps it’s because I’ve run some contests and that’s gotten people to sign up to be able to comment — that it’s not worth the hassle just to leave a comment on a blog post, but the possibility of a prize helps overcome the hurdle? But clearly more folks have signed up to be able to comment.
And I do apologize about the hassle it may take to be able to comment, I try to keep the blog comments relatively spam free and the system in place does a pretty good job of that, but it also means making commenting for the first time a bit inconvenient.
Regardless, I appreciate all of the comments lately, there’s been a nice uptick and I admit I really value the feedback. Sometimes you have a valuable perspective to offer, you own experience trying a technique I’m usggesting. Or you have some knowledge that I do not, for instance i was glad to learn that I was correct about JetBlue’s 4 hour unofficial cancellation policy, but I had caveated that I wasn’t certain about this and fortunately my commenters do know the answer.
In fact I find the comments about y’alls travel experiences to be fascinating, and I don’t even mind the occasional comment from one of you that attacks me personally using a fake handle and bogus email address. Yes, I do know who you are.
The comments help keep me going here at View from the Wing, I do do this for my own enjoyment but sometimes seeing that I’m striking a chord helps too. So raise a glass to yourself, because you’re appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks for all you do too Gary!
